Redemptive Change Agents: East Africa Initiative

Faculty from Vision Bible College, Uganda , Pan Africa Christian University, Kenya, Uganda Christian University, Uganda , Daystar University, Kenya, and Akademie Reformatoriese Opleiding en Studies (AROS), South Africa will meet in Nairobi to discuss the outcomes of their year-long professional development as part of the “Preparing Redemptive Change Agents Initiative.” They will be led by Dr. Stephen Nduto, the INCHE East African project coach, noted here.

The Project: The International Network for Christian Higher Education (INCHE) has undertaken the Preparing Redemptive Change Agents Initiative for Christian universities in Sub-Saharan Africa. This year-long faculty development program is addressing the need to shape young Christian leaders to work in every facet of society by strengthening the bridge between church-based discipleship training and skillful Christian leadership practices. Faculty members from various fields of study have worked in three-person teams to develop Biblical, theological, and practical understandings of redemptive change agency and its place within Christian higher education and the larger culture. The goal is to help these faculty leaders deepen their ability to train students in understanding themselves as redemptive change agents and to teach the knowledge, wisdom, and habits required to become such agents in contexts such as agriculture, business, community development, government, health care, IT, and social services as well as the church.
